Welcome to Marillac

Marillac Clinic is a community clinic providing high-quality health care to low and middle income, uninsured and underinsured residents of Mesa County, Colorado...

  • Most Mesa County residents who are at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible for Marillac services. (Includes uninsured children who meet the same eligibility guidelines.) Patient fees are based on a sliding scale which takes into account family size, income and assets. Once eligibility has been established, patients will be issued a Clinic Card with co-pay information.
  • If patient or a family member are covered by a government assistance program such as Medicaid, CHP+, or CICP some services may be free or only a low co-pay will be required.
  • Marillac is not a free clinic. Patients are expected to pay for services when rendered.
  • The Clinic does not provide financial assistance or pay health care bills (i.e. hospitalization, emergency room visits, lab or radiology, or specialty referral appointments, etc.)
  • Eligibility is updated yearly or more frequently if patient circumstances change. By appointment only. Call 255-1782 in Grand Junction or 464-5862 in Palisade.

Marillac Clinic is committed to maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. We have a zero tolerance policy for violence or language that is uncivil or threatening. Any violation of these policies will have immediate consequences and could result in loss of services. Please see a detailed list of these policies in the zero tolerance notice that accompanies this booklet.

SERVICES

Primary and Preventive Medical Care

Includes uninsured children meeting the eligibility guidelines

Patients receive quality, compassionate care from our professional medical and mental staff as well as specialty health care providers. Patients with needs beyond the scope of the clinic's facilities or services, are often referred to a specialist in the community who will see Marillac patients at reduced rates. Patients are responsible for payment arrangements at the referral specialists office.

Mental Health*

At Marillac, we believe in treating the whole person.

Often, medical conditions occur together with life challenges that cause emotional distress. Our Integrated Care Program offers case management, psychiatric consultation, individual, family, and group therapy. This integration of our mental health and medical providers can help patients with their problems.

*These mental health services are only available to uninsured, established medical clinic patients.

Dental Services

Adults and children can receive preventive and restorative services including cleanings, examinations, x-rays, fillings and extractions.

Specialty services such as dentures, crowns, bridges, and root canals are also available. A 50% down payment is required when scheduling an appointment for specialty services.

  • The Dental Clinic has special programs to promote good oral health at an early age. Our Pediatric Dentist takes care of our youngest patients (up to 10 years old).
  • There is some special funding available to provide limited dental and hygiene care for pregnant women, as well as treatment dollars for uninsured children. You may be also eligible for certain programs to help fund other treatments. Contact our Dental Care Coordinator at 255-6345 for more information on these programs that may provide financial assistance for your dental treatment.

Medicaid eligible children are seen for dental services at no charge. CHP+ has an annual maximum benefit of $600, then services are charged on a sliding fee scale.

Medications and Prescriptions

Prescriptions

In order to better serve our patients and to increase your convenience and savings, Marillac has made special arrangements with local pharmacies to fill our patient prescriptions. Your provider can provide you with a current list of local pharmacies who partner with the Clinic and our patients.

Medication Assistance Program:

  • For patients with long-term chronic and serious conditions, the Medication Assistance Program (MAP) helps meet their particular needs. MAP prescriptions require 4 to 5 weeks to fill/refill. Be sure to allow plenty of time for MAP prescriptions.
  • None of this would be possible without the participation of numerous drug companies and distributors who give generously to the program. A small application fee of $5 is charged for each MAP medication application. Patients meet with an MAP technician to receive paperwork for this special program. Call the main Clinic number to schedule an MAP appointment.

Pick-up times for MAP prescriptions are from 2 pm to 5 pm at the front Desk of the Clinic in Grand Junction.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Optical Services

Eye exams and new eyeglasses are available to patients with vision problems at a reduced rate. Some Medicare patients with low-income are eligible for this service.

Payment

Patients should bring their eligibility card with them every time they visit the Clinic.

Co-payment is expected on the day of your appointment. Prompt payment helps Marillac keep fees and charges low and services available for all who need them.

Scheduling Appointments

Marillac is not a walk-in Clinic, however limited sameday urgent care appointments are available daily for medical and dental appointments. Please consider your fellow patients and make every effort to keep your appointments. When we work together, everyone benefits!

Clinic patients are expected to be on time for their appointments. If you are late, the clinic may give your time to someone else.

If an appointment must be canceled, you must inform the clinic 24 hours in advance or by 1 pm the previous working day for dental appointments.

For more information and complete details on Clinic policies, consult your Patients Rights and Responsibilities handout available from a medical or dental receptionist.
