FIFTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE REMEMBERED...

Mike Lillis, Physician's Assistant

On December 7, 2009, Mike Lillis will see his final patients at Marillac Clinic. There's a nice symmetry in that date, as it was Dec 7, 1994 that Mike saw his first Clinic patients. That's fifteen years of unbroken service to the families of the Grand Valley. Over the years, Mike, a Physicians Assistant, has cared for thousands of patients and seen the Clinic grow dramatically. Only one other Marillac employee has been here longer than Mike.

"This has been a tremendously moving and rewarding experience," said Mike. "My memories of patients and colleagues and volunteers fill me with pride at what we have accomplished together as a community. The mission of the Clinic is something that could never have happened without all of us pulling together."

Mike has seen a lot of changes over those years. He thinks two of the major improvements during his tenure were the advent of Integrated Care and the Medical Assistance Program (MAP) that assists patients with the cost of their medications.

Mike grew up in Iowa and first came to Junction in 1986. His plans for now are to enjoy his retirement, but it's clear that his heart and spirit will remain at Marillac. It's safe to say that though Mike may be moving on, the memory of his service and kindness to patients and colleagues alike will long be fondly remembered at the Clinic he loves so much.
